This is a print of an original acrylic and pen painting that I created to celebrate my daughters afro hair. This image was one of the first I painted on may creative journey in response to my 5 year old telling me she couldn’t be a mermaid as she didn’t have straight hair. I wanted to show her she could be anything she wanted to be.
Through my art, my desire is to create confidence in girls by providing positive representation and reflecting back to them their natural beauty.
